These are in no way top film stories but they are what interests me at the moment
Sexy Spy No.1 is all for one
Favourite Spook of mine Matthew MacFadyen seems to be making good ground in forging a film career. First there was Death at a Funeral (which has been remade with an American cast sadly) then the Ridley Scott blockbuster Robin Hood in which he, as Sheriff of Nottingham was one of the only good things about the movie and now it seems he's tackling a role with a bit more swash to buckle.
This story has surfaced that he is to play Athos in Paul W S Anderson's Three Musketeers. Bad news is that Orlando Bloom has also been linked to the project - best we can hope for it a small part where he can do the least amount of damage. Still I'm looking forward to seeing MacF being all suave and fightey.
Finally a release date for The Tempest?
Looks like it will be at least the end of the year before I get to see The Tempest - unless it plays the London Film Festival in October. Feels like I've been waiting for years for this Julie Taymor adaption of the Shakespeare play.
Naturally I'm curious about Ben Whishaw's portrayal of Ariel, a role I think he is perfect for. In an interview for Wonderland magazine he said:
"Ariel transforms into a harpy so I was naked, apart from a little jockstrap, and painted black, I had my eyebrows shaved off, I was given breasts, these enormous wings. And I had to recite this speech. Julie said, 'Can you do it in double-time cos we're gonna slow it down?' So I was flapping about doing this double-speed speech-ifying."
Sounds intriguing so fingers crossed for the LFF I say, I can't wait.
Where will Warner Bros split Harry Potter 7
OK so it's the question everyone is asking and no one is going to find out until we sit down to watch Part One of Deathly Hallows when it is released in November. From this story it seems that the producers are keeping their options open although I do like the idea of Harry being hauled off to Malfoy Manor and just as it dawns on him where he is being taken 'To Be Continued'... hits the screen.
But by way of a silly experiment if the producers were to take the book as a guide and stop the film exactly half way through this is where Part One would have to finish:
Paperback edition page 420. Harry has just plunged into a freezing pool to retrieve the sword of Gryffindor and Ron, who had gone off in a huff for several chapters reappears to haul Harry out saying:
"Are - you - mental?"
I actually think that might work as it would certainly leave the audience with a smile of relief on their face knowing Ron was back, but not much of a cliff hanger.
Oh and while I'm on the subject of Harry Potter, can I just say that of the pics I've seen, they haven't half given Harry a dorky haircut in this one.
Harry Potter pic is from IMDB
You are too kind Sodapop, I will do my best ;0)

I loathe "The Three Musketeers" (the whole thing is a huge historical inaccuracy)... but if there is Matthew MacFadyen in it, I guess I can make an effort ^^
Also, glad to hear THE TEMPEST takes shape !
I like your blog.
Keep rocking.
